The Sandrider

Based on the initial work done by Somaya Ritell, her son Kehmet designed the system by which the electricity Bolt Bats generate could be harnessed to provide sufficient energy to propel a heavy vehicle forward. This is coupled with a mechanical system beneath the "sleigh" of sorts, allowing it to traverse the sands easily without getting stuck.
However this is fairly expensive, and most Sandriders are either lost, destroyed, or simply never used and held just as heirloom artefacts. The only one that is still in use is manned by a very rich man by the name of Haen Sue, who spends his old days and uncountable riches trying to spread a shred of happiness in the gods-forsaken deserts of Saraya. He has grown quite the folk tale around himself, about how he is sent by the stars, or the gods, or is a spirit of joy come to life, though he denies any such praises and simply says he wishes to give life a little more light.
On his Sandrider, he travels from village to the next, collecting donated valuables and handing out those that he'd obtained from previous travels, thus sharing little oddments from all over, most often with the children of Saraya. People give him things such as dolls, clockwork toys, playful masks and even scientific implements, that they either have no use for anymore or wish to send to someone far away, some might even be returning something they'd received earlier in life but outgrew!
There are few in the desert who would deny that hearing the signature swish of Haen's vehicle travelling through the sand towards their village doesn't spark at least a little joy in their hearts. If not for themselves, then for the children that flock to the event with open arms and smiles the likes of which are rarely seen.
