36 - Winners and Heroes

General Summary

The party are applauded upon their return to the WIntry Wyvern - following their victory in the semifinals of the triannual Grand Tournament, word of their achievements were quickly spreading. A halfling gazetteer by the name of Lady Sploederhead asked for their names and desires in the coming fight, documenting many of the details incorrectly.
At midnight they moved to meet Zigzag, who had just finished Celder's sword after two days of sleepless work. He received the Bracers of Defense promising to look for buyers, and sold two spells scrolls of Slow and Dispel Magic. In the morning there was much shopping and scribing in preparation for the big fight. 
The party arrived at the colosseum and were called to meet with the fighting team. Valjorn seemed amused at their climb, confident he would win it all. Goaded into making some sort of deal, Valjorn wagered his necklace and Wozlathe Hammer for Edalweiss, stating Pyrrne had taken quite an interest in her.
The arena exploded into applause upon the arrival of the two teams, of which there were many fans on both sides. Governess Harendial welcomed all of Solis, congratulating both teams and thanking the mercy of the goddess Amarasi for the city's perseverance amidst the trials of the Kastell Kingdom. With burning red wings, she called for the fight to begin, and the crowd roared.
Valjorn made a beeline towards Edalweiss, with support from Obello and Farrum. The rest of the team managed to halt him, and Kayin landed a successful Dispel Magic with the use of his spell scroll. Valjorn managed to drop both Finn and Edalweiss before falling to Celder's blade, with his caster teammates soon following.
The party was victorious! Amidst the cheering crowd, Kymos descended into the battlegrounds. He offered a handshake, which Celder accepted, scorching his palm. With gritted teeth from the flames, Kymos told the party that the city 'now had its victors, but needed heroes, now more than ever.'
The walls upon the tops of the colosseum were suddenly ignited, with flames of green and red. The audience was thrown into a panic and began running for the exits. Kymos disappeared into a portal, away from the battlegrounds. With Valjorn on the floor, unconscious, Edalweiss cast Inflict Wounds upon his body. With reluctance, Celder dealt the final blow, killing the barbarian. The party worked to remove items from his body, and bound and gagged the two mages. All of the bodies were thrown into Edalweiss's bag.
