Se04Ep02 - Librarian at the Forge or Remember the Doorkickers?
General Summary
Remember the Doorkickers? Blasingdell does!
Question
Speak about resentment, what is it you resent most?
Lostin tries his best to let things go... or so he tells himself. Truth is he seethess with resentment and this is where most of his renaming comes from. As for his most deep-seeded resentments, The Bitchking Ass-hair-ass ranks up there for playing him a fool, but it is The Master that really riles him up.Sambra resents very little in life, but when he considers some of the experiences he's had, the most resent he's felt has been to people around him have cheated those less fortunate for pure personal gain. The opposite of Robin Hood. People who do this are vile creatures and should be resented and hated by all of society.
Rodger Lastname Something that Rodger resents is being beholden to those in power who abuse their station. From Fleta, to good king Acererak, to the slavers of per-bastet and the city of brass. He and his group are uniquely placed to make real change in the world and use their powers for good. And time and time again he feels forced to give up on helping others and making things better, just to preserve the status quo.If he had a wish, gods know what he'd do with it. Probably something drastic...
Miles dosent resent much. He try to live his life without much hatred. But he dosent like it when the weak are taking advantage of
Seom Rando had historically resented his entire upbringing and the people responsible for it. He regrets not having the courage to stand up to Narlack when he was a boy, but feels resentment at the idea that he harbors those inadequacies as an adult (although it's arguable he does).
Synopsis
Remember the Doorkickers? Escort to the mountain by a goblin. Hix " no light, no light!"duregar take them through forge of fury to see qaalaaq
Qaalaaq tells them about:
- there was a period of time fiends had no interest in our world. then the portal was descovered.
- the devils built a great tower a top it's location, it was called Reylak.
- seeing their opening, when the demons took control of the carceri side of the portal, the tower was crushed by the invading elves of the Caelian Empire. the city of Kham was built nearby and the seat of rulership moved there.
- not knowing about the portal, a dungeon began to grow underneath the ruined tower. eventually the demons spewed forth and destroyed the entirety of the Caelian empire
- The demons would have taken the world os Sanguera had the codex not been present. the codex stopped the demonic infestation that razed the ruling city of Kham, confining the sea of fiends that erupted from the lower planes and preventing it from spreading across the world
- the portals carceri location began a centuries long battle for control, allowing civilization to rise once more into the the beginning of the Ages we now use.
- The city of neverwinter was built atop the now cleansed dungeon complex of Rylek, ages passed until a demon was seen again.
- late in the 4th age, around 960, rumors of demons in the city arose, many adventuring groups rose in those times, none like the Unbreakable Banishers, they alone are responsible for the recleansing of the dungeon Reylek and were hearalded as heros of the 5th age.
- Asher took over as king after revealing the former ruling court to be infested with demons. He somehow made pacts to raise the bubble and the interest on this side of the portal waned.
- Eventually the demons figured out a way to get rid of the bubble. it could have been a coincidence, but I doubt it. Their invasion of our world was only stymied by the recent flood.
