Question
Where is the one place your character is never allowed back?
Lostin is a blowhard, braggart, and pickpocket so there are a few places he's not allowed to go back to. Thanks to the flood through, his issues with the law, the Thieve's Guild, and the dwarves might make Neverwinter one place he CAN go back to. Seom was unceremoniously defenestrated from the Red Rakshasa Tavern after winning the night's dice jackpot and using the proceeds to support the courting of the tavern owner's wife... successfully. All in all, a great night that he looks back on fondly, however, he knows he would pay his life if he ever returned. Miles is never allowed back in his tribe again. They have a rule that if you ever leave the tribe then you may never return One place Rodger is never allowed back is the city of Merkin far to the north. It was bad enough when he ruined a trade deal the city had with a clan of ice ogres (by freeing a horde of snow-elf slaves under their control), but matters became worse when Rodger popularized a slang term for a toupé one wore specifically for their...nether regions using the name of the seedy city. "I've got a merkin under my jerkin!" Sambra will never be allowed back into the port city of Cauldron. Once, while he was performing research on lost artifacts in the library, he accidentally knocked over a oil lantern and nearly burned down half the building. Luckily, he had just learned ray of frost and was able to douse the flames in ice, but that then lead to destroying another three shelves of tomes... Needless to say, he's never been back to not only the library, but the entire city. Ark remembers passing by this nameless village with a bar smack dab in the middle once when he was just getting confident with the ladies. One of his first attempts however ended up being a barmaid who was actually the village's mayor. Having his daughter flirted with was not on his list of okay things to happen in front of him, but because Ark bragged about his family's connections, he couldn't outright be banned from the whole village. He was however banned from the bar, named the Happy Merry. He never was able to tell if that barmaid was into him though with how quick her father was to intervene.Synopsis
Conversing with Acererak the players learn that their future lies with protecting the Codex Incabulum. Acererak offers little in consolation or remorse and attests that this was all a test for those to be deemed worthy. The Doorkickers sought to find answers, regrets, and help from the former king, but he provided none. At 2000 hours, a contingency spell went off as planned by Acererak and began a brutal round of combat. After walling up behind a globe of invulnerability, Acererak took out Sambra's simulacrum and then Rodger's cube of force with a dispel magic following up with a power word stun. This left the three liches open to fireball and counterspell the party down to low hit points. Facing annihilation and already lost two simulacrum, Sambra used a wish to heal the party and remove all the magical effects caused by Acererak. This kicked the party into high gear and the damage took out Acererak before he could finish them off. Finally defeat Asher said, "You are worthy." The mansion fades and drops the party out in front of the crypt of Acererak the Demilich, who rises to meet the party bellowing, "Who disturbs the rest of Acererak?"Rewards Granted
Kari the lich joins the party.
