How Dangerous is Miasma?

The danger level varies depending on someone's exposure to Miasma and it's form.
Slumbering Liquid; Being around it isn't inherently dangerous, as long as someone doesn't bother it via sound or touch it does not pose a threat. The Slumbering Liquid rolls at a slow pace in it's pools and encroachments, almost mesmerizing in how the patterns move with a quiet and practiced grace. Interacting with Slumbering Miasma however, will wake it up and increases the danger level substantially.
Awoken Slime; While not all pools of Miasma are inert until disturbed, some are awake perpetually, seeking out life and mana to drain. Awoken Miasma rolls with an intensity and anger of a wild animal, pulsing outwards in an attempt to engulf whatever has triggered it. There are rumors that in the muck lives a creature, though none can say for sure.
Touching Miasma; Regardless of if it's awoken or not, touching Miasma is a death sentence for most creatures. Draining Life and Mana from it's victim through physical contact is it's primary source of danger, with engulfing it's prey it's primary desire. Spellcasters being preferred prey, and everyone else being secondary. It's ability to do so is limited by the quantity of any Miasma in a container or room, but like any parasite not removing it will lead to death. While "poisoned" with Miasma, Spellcasters will find their abilities greatly hampered.
