Garnwald - Noble's District
The Noble District is situated at the highest point of Garnwald, where the old city once lay. The district is surrounded by the old city wall, named The Wall of Wonders, with guards both at the gates and on the towers. All the towers have weapons able to combat both airships and flying beings, and the city guard also has access to both magic users and healers in case of a siege or attack.
In the middle of the district lies the royal palace, The Palace of the Sun, a large castle clad in white marble. It's seven onion shaped spires are covered in gold, and it's four entrances are both massive and formidable. The palace guard makes sure only those with business within the palace are allowed to enter, and will go as far as needed to keep the rest away. The palace gardens have the largest collection of trees and flowers from Sanres, and is the pride of both the gardeners and the Queen.
Next to the palace lies the Senate, a large open building with columns supporting a bronze roof. The Senate has no walls, but there are magical barriers keeping the elements out. This is to show the population that the Senate has no secrets. When the Senate is in session, anyone who want can come stand on the square outside to listen in on the debate.
All the noble families have mansions in the Noble's District, one more lavishly decorated than the next. All these mansions have pocket dimensions to make them even larger, and the noble families invite each other to balls, dinners and lectures held by esteemed wizards, clerics or thinkers. It is all about the pomp and circumstance, and turning down an invite is seen as an attack on the entire family. Unless you happen to be the Queen of course. She attend only the most extravagant parties.
When the Queen invites the noble families to her castle, once or twice a year, the boutiques compete against each others as they create the dresses and outfits for the nobility. Woe the noble who wears the same dress twice!
