Garnwald - Scholar's District

The building towering over the Scholar's District, and indeed the entire city of Garnwald, is The University of Magical and Divine Studies. It is both tall and wide, and houses everything from acolytes studying the religious texts to wizards who experiment with elemental magic. The building itself looks more like it has grown in place than being built, as it twists and turns towards the sky. Those not familiar with the inside of the University claim that they know someone who went in, never to return, while those who study, or work, at the University, claim that navigating the hallways, corridors, assembly areas and auditoriums is quite easy. 
Scattered around the University you'll find the homes of both professors, students and staff. There are no real streets or avenues in the Scholar's District, as most of the buildings were raised where the owner found a nice spot for it. This makes it difficult for those unfamiliar with the district to navigate it, while those who live and work there seem to find their way without any trouble. 
There are several stores within the district, selling potions, magical items, and other goods needed for a life of magic. Some of the stores sell both divine and arcane goods, while others specialise in one of the two. There are also rumours of stores dedicated to dark magic, and some stores where those who think the ban on resurrection magic is wrong, but these stores can be hard to find, and even harder to enter.
Most entrances to the buildings in the Scholar's District are warded, some are rigged with magical traps, and other arcane or divine spells. And if you manage to bypass them, there are both familiars and constructs guarding the homes and stores.
