Ishurad's Mask
The Mask is primarily a focusing tool, used to control and harness the extreme power of Ishurad, the First King. To this end, the Mask intuitively draws on the full power of the user, which can backfire if wielded by those without the First King's Blood. Since the power of Ishurad is directly intertwined with the life force of those with his blood, the Mask draws on the full life force of the user and so while it can bring out the user's greatest potential, it also slowly kills them.
Mechanically, this works by allowing the user to first roll a CON Saving Throw against their own Spell Save DC (or 8 + Proficiency + STR Mod if they do not have a Spell Save).
Upon success, the user can cast spells one level higher, but at the cost of slight self-damage equal to one dice used from that spell, as the power from the spell threatens to burn them from the inside. For example, if the user was to cast a spell that would do 4d6 damage, the user rolls an extra 1d4 against themselves as well.
If used for melee or ranged combat instead of a spell attack, the user of the Mask can add an extra damage dice + modifier to their total damage, but until the start of their next turn they roll Disadvantage on any Saving Throws and enemies roll with Advantage for attacks made against them, as the Mask temporarily drains them of energy.
If the initial CON Saving Throw fails, nothing happens unless the failure is by more than the user's Spell Attack Modifier (or Proficiency + STR Mod if they do not have a Spell Attack Modifier), in which case the user drops to 0 HP and must make Death Saving Throws. However, on three success the user will come back to consciousness with 1d8 health.
Wearing it also offers Magic Resistance to the user and occasionally grants visions, both of past wearers and of things yet to come. Wearing it for too long or using its bonuses more times than the user's CON modifier, however, requires CON Saving Throws that get steadily higher depending on the length and intensity of the Mask's use. A failed check immediately renders the user unconscious, with potentially greater consequences.
