Portable Peephole

This small, silver-framed lens has 3 charges. You can expend a charge as an action and press the portable peephole to a surface. For the next minute the surface appears transparent when viewed through the lens, which is 1 inch in diameter. This does not work if the surface is made of lead or is more than 1 foot in thickness. 
The lens regains 1d4-1 (minimum 1) charges after a long rest.
