Amadeus Backhauser

Prince Backhauser is the newly appointed Prince of Los Angeles, formally filling the void left by Prince LaCroix back in 2004 and held by Maximillian Strauss. The deliberations for who would take over Los Angeles were a vicious affair, seeing elders all over the Camarilla draw their cloaks and daggers and gnash fangs at one another until finally a consensus was reached with Backahauser, notably having ruled Brandenburg and later Berlin for centuries. As one of the most potent vampiric elders not called by the Beckoning, he commands tremendous authority and has a reputation for brutal efficiency yet fair governance. He took command in 2018 and brought with him the notable Camarilla bounty hunter Cyrus Verran along as his sheriff. Despite the Anarch’s worries of his appearance solely to quash their rebellion, Amadeus arrived chiefly to lead the Camarilla through the coming war between the Sabbat, Kuei Jin, the reestablished Anarch Free State, and the still struggling Camarilla.
Prince Backhauser rules with a firm grasp but does not strangle his subjects, nor is he unreasonable to his neighbors. He upheld the treaty with the Haven of Santa Monica and has actively worked with the Anarch Free State against the Sabbat and Kuei Jin on various endeavors. Under his leadership, the Camarilla has stabilized and grown - retaking much of its lost territory.
Backhauser is a mighty Elder who has received extensive training throughout his career. He is likely the single strongest vampire in Los Angeles. Little is known of his extensive history and origins - lost to the sands of time and concealed through careful craft which only adds to the mystery. It is believed he is a member of the Inner Circle, given the privilege due to the nepostistic nature of the Camarilla. He was likely involved with the founding of the Camarilla centuries ago, and has somehow entirely resisted the Beckoning.
