The Elven Twins (also called
The Elven Church) is the name for the faith following the twin elven dieties of life and death, Modellia and Baxbrill. These twins are primarily worshipped by the
High Elves of
The Thurihell Forest and
The Elfdunes .
Modellia
Modellia is the sister of the twins, and the goddess of rain, storms and life. Modellia is believed by the faith to be the one who created life and shaped the high elves of Thurihell in her image. It's believed she has the Pitcher of Life, which is a pitcher full of the water of life. When someone is born, a small drop of water falls from the Pitcher and into that person, becoming their soul. Modellia is depicted as a beautiful elven woman with a dress made of stormclouds. It's said her eyes are the color of lightning and her voice like thunder.
Baxbrill
Baxbrill is the brother of the twins, and the god of ice and death. Baxbrill is believed by the faith to be the one who comes at death, touching the deceased chest and freezing their soul. Baxbrill will silently take the soul to
The Cold After , the afterlife that, while originating in the elven faith, has spread to be the predominant belief of an afterlife by most in
Ocera . Baxbrill is depicted as an elven man in dark robes wearing a white mask. The mask is usually depicted as smiling.
Organization
Priest
Priest of the Elven Twins are called
Duothrax in Elvish
, or
Elfpriest outside of the Thurihell or Elfdunes. These priest take vows in the elven churches, surrendering land, title and name. They are given a new name by the church. These priest dress in blues, blacks and whites. Some favor one of the twins more than the other, and their attire reflects that. Those that favor Modellia tend to wear loose, breezy robes and carry small bottles of rainwater with them. Those that favor Baxbrill tend to wear white mask in a similar fashion to their god.
Stormpriest
Devout followers of Modellia that are blessed with magic and sorcery are known as Stormpriest. These clerics are reknown for their healing abilities, with some ancient stormpriest having been rumored to be able to bring back the dead.
Swords of Baxbrill
The Swords of Baxbrill are an armed group of zealous Baxbrill followers. They are commited to rooting out and destroying undead.
Rights & Privileges
The faith of the elves crosses little with their government. While many in the nobility and government are of the faith, there are few laws and legal powers having to do with the faith. Some of the Council of Willoweye have attempted to write in such law before, granting the faith certain rights and placing priest in their own social class, but none have passed.

The Elfdunes . Having strong themes of life and death, the faith of the Elven Twins has become popular within other cultures and areas as well.
