Khomdaruhm
Khomdaruhm (/'kɒmda:ɹum/ from Eletherosian Adurgeshi khoumdthaurm /ɣɒum'ᵈðauɵm/, "skin of the old lords") is the term most commonly used in modern times to refer to the metal created via alloy of raw khomdaruhm ore, iron, and carbon - in Adurgheshi, khoumdthaurm technically refers to the raw ore while the term for the metal alloy would be khoum-stiildthaurm. It is an extremely dense and ductile metal with imposingly low malleability and extreme resistance to corrosion.
Quite rare and difficult to shape due to its high melting point, proper steel-khomdaruhm smithing is a relatively recent invention. While many hoped or feared that the newly-crafted alloy could replace the dwindling supplies of ylinkjen remaining from the second era, its extreme weight and difficulty of proper shaping in comparison to steel, let alone the historical dragon-iron, meant that it certainly could not fulfill the same role. Instead, the dense metal is most often used in construction and fortification, as arms and armor crafted from the material often hamper the holder as much as their opponent.
