Oliver Yoddlehopper

Excerpts from Tales of the world's greatest explorer By Oliver Yoddlehopper.
Oliver Yoddlehopper was a renowned author in his time. He Traveled Saramoth in search of strange creatures and outlandish histories, mingling with savage peoples like the G'Arib or the Vagus tribesmen, and studying the Forest apes in their secret forest homes.   Yoddlehopper's works are traditionally shunned by his more austere counterparts, and are not used in education, due to their rather flippant style and commonly exaggerated facts. Yoddlehopper himself swears that his work is always accurate, and says he would never make anything up. No one believes him, and they are all wrong.   Yoddlehopper traveled the world with a small group of adventurer/mercenaries for many years, though his works weren't popular until after he died. Some argue that Yoddlehopper isn't actually dead, but in fact just off on a daft adventure to some far-off land. Yoddlehoppper was last seen leaving Billsbrille on the pirate ship Little Willy, which was attacked and wrecked en-route to whatever destination it had.   Yoddlehopper has not been seen since.

Personal history

Oliver Yoddlehopper traveled the world for many years, His first adventure being when he was 15. He stowed away on a Goblin ship taken passengers from Hobbiton to Caloren, and spent two years "exploring" (i.e. lost in) the Elven Jungles. He cataloged his experiences in a book, the first of his many future works. After a brief stint in Girble with his parents again, 17-year old Oliver bought ship passage on a military vessel going to Krenshaw. He spent another 5 years in the area, and scaled the Tempestua mountains to enter the Congealation Steppe, and lived with the Vagus Tribesmen.   Oliver's further journeys include: Travel through the eternal desert with the G'Arib, scaling the highest peaks in the Durhnalla mountain, first man to lay eyes on the forbidden fortress of the far south, first man to survive a shipwreck against the Monster of the Goblin sea, and first man to find the underground world below the Durnhalla mountains.

Education

Oliver received no education, but his knack for trouble, showmanship, and a ridiculous good luck have kept him alive through all his journeys.

No one ever payed Yoddlehopper for his books, unless they had never heard of him. Yoddlehopper's income mostly came from the selling of very strange items, gained on his extensive adventures.
