The Arian
A deep, mystical, constructed pit forming Centerpoint's 'center' and the hub of the Wizardry's power. The Wizardery has lived in this secretive location since the great war, ruling the kingdom of Westerel.
Purpose / Function
A central point of magical power in Westerel and Toclomar. Built on mysterious magical site of power and unknown origin, its prestige and mystique grant authority to its owners.
Alterations
Originally a blessed/cursed well (accounts vary) The Arian was an isolationist group of Elves for a large portion of its history. The Wizardry forcibly evicted the elves around 480, and built the Arian soon after.
Architecture
The Arian circular, inverted series of flying buttresses descending to an unknown depth. The structure appears to cease around 350' below the rim (bordered by a 1 story wall), but in reality this is merely the roof of a large series of basements and tunnels descending to mysterious caverns beneath the surface.

History
Originating in the unknown past, the Arian was a well in the vast and dangerous Ayara plains, surrounded by violent predators and seemingly endless grassland, it remained a small monastic outpost of isolationist elves for thousands of years. Ancient dwarvish texts blame these for the evil deep within their ancient caverns (the reality of which is also very skeptical), the existence of the Arian cannot be historically confirmed until it was mentioned in the personal diary of king Saramoth the third, who supposedly sought shelter there from a group of bandits.
