The Come on Inn
The Come on Inn is remarkable for its overtly daft attitude and strange traditions, as well as the varied crowd it attracts. Pirates, merchants, adventurers, farmers and kings have all spent a quiet, or frequently chaotic, night at the Come on Inn. It is said that the come on inn was founded for the pirates, and Billsbrille was founded for the Inn.
Purpose / Function
The Come on Inn serves the city of Billsbrille as a meeting hall, a brawling pit, an all-night party, an entertainment center, and an information black market. Sometimes, people stop there to eat and spend the night.
Denizens
Matthias, the great-great-grandson of the Inn's original founded, barely ever leaves the building. He can be found, day and night, sleeping behind or serving the large bar, swapping tales with all manner of riffraff. Matthias could be a pirate king if he wanted to, as most member's of Billbrille's vilest crews grew up within 4 miles of the inn, and visited frequently.
Alterations
The inn originally began as a barn which was expanded as the area grew and ship captains needed a place to put their men when at port. First a row of 3 side rooms, cheekily called 'stalls' by the inkeeper, were added off the each side of the building, then the main building was reinforced after a fire and the 'stalls' expanded into proper rooms. A kitchen was added on one end, and the barn doors were replaced with a proper door and stairway. The loft was converted into 4 more rooms, and the 'stalls' all received second stories. To date 4 major renovations have been enacted on the Inn,
A. the first rooms, kitchen.
B. the loft & staircase
C. the second story rooms and central reinforcement,
D. Third story rooms and main room furnishings.
The inn also has several so-called 'outhouses' containing more bedrooms, and can house 34 individuals or parties at once.
Architecture
The inn is made of forest oak wood, with ceramic shingles. The construction is overall rather shoddy, being mostly made by off-duty ship crews. In one secret nook of the house, detailed graffiti can be found were a builder accidentally closed himself in a broom closet as be added walls.
History
In 421, A farmer started renting out his barn to local vagrants. He began to expand as demand grew, and eventually named it the Come on Inn. Today that farmer's Great-great-grandson still rents out this same, slightly larger, 'barn' to all manner of Saramoth's vagrants. The Inn has burned three times, never completely, and always because of a pirate brawl. Fights are common, especially when multiple raider ships are harboring at once. King Marothsa the 12th famously visited the Inn in 478, when he was traveling to the forbidden isle to oversee the quarantine of the Forbidden isle.
