The Aledon family river

The Aledon family river runs through Saranolia, staring at the holy mountain on witch the gods of this land like to meet. The river then flows trough a rocky hillside, passing the village of Stones Burrow and splits into two parts witch pass the two opposite borders to Zallius. On the other side it passes through the white forest and ends in the land of endless beauty, also known as the beautiful south.

Every god connected to water in this world has blue glowing eyes and hair that resembles a waterfall. Myths and legends say that all of the rivers water comes from one goddess that sits on the to of the holy mountains. Most of the gods are female, as it is believed that women are more capable of magic and generally seen as wiser.

As the name suggests it belongs to the Aledon family, but they are no ordinary human family. They are a big and important family of water gods, that originate in Saranolia. This means they cannot pass the borders, to visit any other pars of the other country's. Unless the stay within their river or they touch the water.

One of the members of this family was Emilia Aledon. While it was her year of watching the flow of the river she fell in love with a god of trees named Jonathan Darriaos. Unfortunately he lived in the land of endless beauty. The lovers could only see each other when Emilia stood on the river that reached beyond the border. The live of a god is dependent on them staying close to the source of their magic.

Humans generally used the river as a means of transport and food. Handcrafted ships often swam from stones burrow all the way to, far away Zakihi to trade stone art and weapons with wood carved depictions of gods and rare fruit.

The people have learned to be careful when fishing, because in the water is not only fish, but also a large number of deadly green ring snappers. These water creatures can easily snap a finger of an unsuspecting fisher and can be very deadly due to poison when eaten.

One of these days Jonathan couldn't stay away from his love and visited her in Saranolia. This resulted in him passing away from being disconnected from his source magic. He slowly died in his pregnant girlfriends arms. That knight she went to the White Forest to cry her pain away. Her tears formed a lake, now known as the lake of wishes and dreams. She made the decision to end her own live and cried one last tear into the lake. After her body desolved into magic the last tear tuned into a small magic wolf pup that was as white as the forest he was born in. He is the representation of the couples love, pain and connection.

This story was told to many gods so far to keep them from making the same mistake.

The other side of the river that flows into Zallius use to house the god Tara Aledon. He was very unlucky to be a water god, as every god of that type of magic disappeared without a trace. This made the river run dry as soon as Saranolia hits Zallius border. Now the green fields and prosperous villages that use to be there are dried out and devoid of live.

The south end of Saranolia connects to the beautiful south: A nature filled pice of land that set river flows into. The Country is made up of many tall stone mountains that look similar to the Tianzi mountains. The Aledon river flows perfectly between them to the middle of the beautiful south, where they disappear into seemingly nowhere. Nobody knows where the water of this magic river goes. Anybody that has ventured to where the river ends was never heard from again.
