Hayadinū Tīlab
The City of Order
History
The first city built by mortal kind on Sarcesta, built around the holy throne of Artoria Ordo, the creation of Hayadinū Tīlab marks the beginning of the first era of history. It has grown to be the largest city in Prikari Taru, home to almost every sentient species present in the world. Hayadinū Tīlab was the location of the final battle in the war against the apocalypse of Necropolis. During this battle a scar was cut through the earth into the city, leaving a massive ravine and the remains of Artoria Ordo in the city to remind the citizens of what price was once paid for their safety. At the dawn of known history, Hayadinū Tīlab was built to protect the worshippers of Artoria Ordo. The construction of Hayadinū Tīlab began the Era of the First City, when most of Prikari Taru's citizens resided in the walls of the city of order.Society & Culture
Attitude Towards Outsiders
Hayadinū Tīlab is a city that openly welcomes outsiders and immigration. It has always been representative of the vast and varied people of Sarcesta, coming together to create something greater than themseles. Hayadinū Tīlab was built by the peoples of Prikari Taru for the people of Prikari Taru. Travellers who frequent the city often find themselves becoming something of honorary citizens, as the traders and citizens make a concerted effort to remember those who come through their walls.Religion of Hayadinū Tīlab
As the throne city of Artoria Ordo, most religious belief revolves around the Holders of Order. The temple in which the acolytes of the Holders of Order reside is located just at the feet of Artoria Ordo's great throne. Individuals following the various divine paths of Sarcesta make their home in the city, creating a few centers of worship scattered throughout the districts of Hayadinū Tīlab. There are no places of worship for the other religions of the gods, it is seen as inappropriate to worship any other god whilst inside the throne city of their honorary king.Demographics
Hayadinū Tīlab is one of the most populated cities in all of Sarcesta. The mix of species living in the borders is representative of the larger world as a whole, though humans do have a slightly more dominant presence in the city of Hayadinū Tīlab. Amongst humans, Hayadinū Tīlab is dominated by the Resdae ethnic group. Resdā are native to the area of Taru Ardentia, though they are not the only human ethnic group in the region. The other group, āroth, is conversly the minority ethnic group amongst humans in Arteria. It is common for ethnicities and species outside of Prikari Taru to make a home in Hayadinū Tīlab. These individuals are more than welcome to reside in the city; but, the history of Hayadinū Tīlab as the First City of Prikari Taru can make residence their overwhelming for individuals from beyond the continent's borders.Guilds
Trader's Guild: The Trader's Guild of Prikari Taru has a strong presence in Hayadinū Tīlab. A guild hall is located in the outer wall market district of Hayadinū Tīlab, providing safe harbor for travelling traders in the region.Government & Economy
Government
Led by the position of governor, Hayadinū Tīlab allows its citizens to vote for who they believe should hold the position of governor. After this election, the governor assigns vacant positions in their government to who they deem fit. The citizens are given a small amount of say in the passing of laws and enforcement of those laws, but generally it is the governor who has the power to dictate the future of Hayadinū Tīlab. It might be better than a monarchy, but only maginally so. I care little for what their elites say, all a governor is is a king with an approval rating. Let the people speak if you want a real government.
Defenses
Hayadinū Tīlab maintains a standing army of volunteers. This army is responsible for the defense of all of Tarū Tīlab. Their primary garrison is built into the towering wall that goes through Hayadinū Tīlab, with the headquarters of the Ordo Army located at the center of the city. A towering wall used to surround the city, constructed to protect them from the ever present monstrous threats and the encroaching birth of Necropolis' foul beasts. Unfortuantely, the rapid growth of Arteria forced the city to expand past the wall, leaving the wall to divide Hayadinū Tīlab in two.Industry & Trade
The economy of Hayadinū Tīlab is primarily mercantile in nature. What little they produce through agriculture is reserved for the city itself, most agricultural produce utilized by Hayadinū Tīlab is imported from neighboring nations. Hayadinū Tīlab is a trade hub for Prikari Taru, Tarū Tīlab provides a safe harbor from danger for travelling caravans, and the welcoming nature of the city encourages traders to visit while in Tarū Tīlab. Reasonable taxes and fees are applied by Hayadinū Tīlab, allowing them to generate significant revenue from the commerce passing through their borders.
