Jemeth

Jemeth has historically been the most violent of the countries in Giellos, which has earned the Goblinoids that make up most of its inhabitants a reputation for being quite evil and bloodthirsty. That changed just over a century ago with the conclusion of The War of Kithorun. After Kithorun was banished to the Outer Planes, Jemeth was brought to its knees and forced to join The Giellan Union. Due to some negotiating and a lot of protest from Quam, Jemeth was allowed to keep its autonomy, with some limitations on its military. However, its economy would have been shattered for a long time had it not been for the presence of crechilite.   Jemeth, having historically been barbaric, did not utilize its natural resources before joining The Giellan Union. However, business people from other nations discovered within the vast hills and mountain ranges a great amount of untapped iron, coal, silver, gold, gemstones, and most importantly, crechilite. Crechilite is the basis around a great number of powerful magical inventions, most notably the majority of Warforged. Over the span of just a few years, all of Giellos was getting shipments from Jemeth. Mining jobs were becoming absolutely essential. People began getting over their fear of Goblinoids and ventured into Jemeth with the hopes of getting rich.   Although the initial boom has faded, these resources continue to make Jemeth a vital part of the continental economy, particularly Anjeta's. Sabren the Witch Queen has attempted to remove all stereotypes surrounding her nation and make Jemeth not just productive, but also a progressive, respected nation. It is slowly building cities instead of villages and a complete country instead of tribes.    The largest worry in Jemeth is The Hornets, a criminal organization that spans the entire country. With the exception of the capital city, Metclock, The Hornets are in nearly every location where the are people.
