Elneoas-Man Before Mahn

Planeros was not created by the Seven Melodies, but, as is commonly known, owes its current shape to them. Questions of what the planet was like before the Melodies descended onto the world have long been a topic of debate and conjecture among the scholars and philosophers living in the various Disignos. One of the biggest questions on the subject that has long plagued the great minds of Planeros is "Was there mahn before the Melodies?" Those who would say yes seem to generally agree on one civilization having existed in the time before history-one known as the Elneoas.

Summary

Supposedly, long before the Seven Melodies made Planeros their home, mahn lived and thrived there. They built structures and formed civilizations. The most notable of them was an organization called Elneoas. Master artificers and brilliant minds, these people built a thriving nation that existed for centuries and only ended when the Melodies arrived. For whatever reason, the Melodies did not wish to coexist with the Elneoas, and decimated them completely.

Historical Basis

In Metamora, one of the eight Disignos into which the world is separated, there exists a number of mysterious and gigantic structures. The most notable of these are The Crescendos, the Temple of Snow, the Glass Lake, and Gabelhire Keep. All of them are complex buildings, clearly made by the hands of mahn. They are inscribed with runes and glyphs of languages long lost, and many attempts have been made to translate them. Certain inscriptions are believed to include names of the constructors and the dates of construction, but little else has been ascertained, and even those theories are on shaky ground. The locals living near Gabelhire Keep claim that the inscriptions on the stone around the central column read "Before the songs that shattered, before the rising melody, built by Elneoas." Though, there is no real evidence to back up their claim.
