New Orleans is a dark place these days. The Prince of the City, known as the Shadow, is a terrifying specter to the Vampires of the City. The Shadow seems to know everything that goes on in the city and strikes without warning against plotters, while orchestrating everything through dead-drops and graffiti. No one still alive in New Orleans has ever seen the Shadow, but everyone knows the City is his.
