Specialist

'Specialist' is a title that is only applied to The Bureau's most elite soldiers after undergoing 2 years of mentally, physically, and emotionally grueling field "BANSHEE" training.

BANSHEE is, of course, actually a colloquialism - those who survive the program jokingly call it that because approximately 40% of those selected die before training is up (Each region selects the top 50 from each Fort during each draft year for Specialization. About 30 of each batch survive. It has essentially become a death knell to get selected for specialization and is often the cost of not washing out of boot camp).

According to the program's chief architect Command Sergeant Major Hadrian Vesper of the Stratum, BANSHEE training is based heavily off of the Spartan agoge - beginning at 16, those who are highest ranked in their draft year at the end of 2 months of boot camp are handed over to a Sgt Major for training. The remaining 22 months of the draft ticket are spent being trained in everything from espionage to war history to hand-to-hand to working with explosives. At one time or another, each of these revered Specialists serves in either the 10th, 11th, 12th, or 13th Special Forces Groups, though station/assignment depend upon skillset and demand.
