Crescent Estelmer

Crescent Estelmer

Crescent was abandoned at the young age of 1 month and given to the Waterdavian Estelmer family. They raised her like their own and she grew up with two best friends: Ander Windrivver and Ralmevik Ulmokina.

Physical Description

Physical quirks

Crescent is missing her right hand which was cut off by one of her bitch ass party members. But never fret, she was gifted a newer, better hand by the House of Ghond. This new hand is able to create an explosive blast or a cone of fire.

Mental characteristics

Employment

Viper rank in the Zhentarim and rising.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Founded a Tiefling orphanage in Waterdeep named Crescent's Manor. Drove out Mansoon from Waterdeep. Rid the Temple of the Restful Lily of the Coven of the Fetted Gaze and became the co-owner of the fine establishment. Recovered Sister Calm from Airlanvain's lair. Plundered the Vault of Dragons. Stole the Xanathar's fish, Sylgar.

Failures & Embarrassments

Davil Starsong won't flying snake me back. :( Also, she tried to re-establish ties with her long lost family, the Castlelanters. Unforturnately, she damned their children to Hell and they wouldn't drink the mimosas she bought.

Mental Trauma

Used up two of her nine lives, but still alive and kicking thanks to Ander <3

Crescent is a super tan, blue haired, babe of a tiefling that loves being blinged out at all times. She is co-owner of two esteemed businesses and involved in some....interesting extracurriculars on the side ;)

To My Dearest Friends, (The Real Version)

Where do I even begin? For the past year I have managed to successfully infiltrate the highest ranks of Tiem's Chosen and have been tirelessly searching for a way to pass this information on to you all. It has proven more difficult than I ever imagined. In order to convince the Wyrm Speakers that I am indeed committed to their little devil's club, I had to allow the Blue Wyrm Speaker (our dearest Mansoon) to make a simulacrum of me. Therefore, please do not willingly trust me if you see me! It is not me! The main reason I have not been able to contact any of you is because Mansoon put this nasty geas on me which essentially tries to kill me if I communicate any information with you all that has not been approved by Mansoon or the other Wyrm Speakers. Hopefully this letter does not kill me, but the likeliness is high. Do not fear for me, I would do anything to give you all a fighting chance, just please listen closely to what I tell you next. There are two main components here that I am going to dive into: the Denarians and Tiamat's Chosen's whole fucking motive.   Let's start with the Denarians for context. The Denarians is a creature who was imprisoned a long time ago inside of 30 silver coins. They are similar to fallen angels and were the agents of Zariel, who is the archduke of Avernus and the Consort of Chains in the Pantheon. They try to be high up in the organizational structures and will put themselves in a position to be relied upon, but they are difficult to trust because their motivations are unknown. I was unable to discover their true motivations; therefore, I would not trust them.   Ralmevik once said to me that Sister Calm and Brother Diligence are Knights of the Coin. I believe this to be an order of Denarians. Sister Calm possesses the Denarius Saluriel and Brother Diligence possesses the Denarius Ursiel. Brother Diligence's Denarius allows him to know any lie spoken in his presence immediately. You must not trust the Arcane Brotherhood! I found proof of cooperative communications which have been happening between the Denarians and Tiem's Chosen long before the beginning of the war. Lord Red and Mansoon have been speaking directly with Sister Calm all this time.   Here comes the "why." Long ago, the Arcane Brotherhood figured out that the barrier between the material plane and other planes of existence has been naturally weakening over the last few hundreds of years. This information was given to Mansoon by Sister Calm. Tiem's Chosen decided to speed this process up instead of trying to slow it down. They figured out that they could speed up the weakening of the barrier through mass sacrifice, hence all the tiefling sacrifices that have been happening. Weakening this barrier means that they can ultimately free Tiamat from Hell so that she may come and rule the material plane before any other god is able to do so.   Mansoon has sent me on a mission to find an archfae named Zyblina, but we know her as Tasha, who possesses something of value to Tiem's Chosen. I am working to free her and return her to the Summer Court where she will hopefully be safe from this dragon-crazed cult. I am working to break my geas, but until then this may be the last time I speak with you all. Mouse told me about Juno and Fenris. My heart aches with you all. Juno was put to rest in the most beautiful forest I've ever seen. I hope Fenris is somewhere just as beautiful surrounded by stacks of gold as far as the eye can see.   You all are the best thing in my life and I desperately hope this information gives you the edge you need to turn the tide on this war. I'll contact you as soon as I'm able!   Sending all my love, Crescent

Child Ash and Lore (3/2/22)

Note to self: do not give Delphine (Archfey of the Leap Year *quivers in fear and admiration*) access to fire. Our sweet little flower child is actually quite the arsonist. Aside from almost dying at the hands of the Jabberwock, burning ten children alive, and barely avoiding an unpleasant encounter with Zargash, I'd say our time in Thither was just a walk in the park! HA, I make myself laugh.   As we flew away from Thither my thoughts drifted back to Lamorna and her small oasis. Will we ever experience peace like that again? What chance do we stand to reuniting her with her mate and securing the horn? I hope she stays safe while we delve in to the unknown once more.   Yon gave us quite the welcome as it attempted to rip us from the sky. Thank you, Yon. We are excited to be here as well. This place doesn't do well on first impressions with its grey, hard, rocky exterior. I will make it a point to accomplish our goals here as quickly as possible, not only because our mission to save the world is time sensitive, but also because I did not pack enough Vitamin D for such a gloomy place and if my seasonal depression starts to set in I am going to be one moody bitch.   As we touched ground and set to healing our wounds from the lightning and storm, we made for a sheltered alcove where we found what seemed to be a stone bench. The inscription on it read "insert here." I found it odd for such a phrase to be on a bench in the middle of a raging storm and tentatively placed my hand upon its surface. It felt like a million sensations at once: hard, smooth, sharp, soft, jagged, etc. I can't quite describe what followed, but the next moment the stone was gone and my mind felt infinitely sharper, but tinged with a sense of great loss and pain. I know that I've experienced this same feeling before when Fenris and I met the Crippled God, the King of Chains. The name inscribed on the stone must have been his real name. His deep name. What I will do with this information I have yet to decide. Knowing that the Queen of Chains is Tiamat, what is the relationship between those two? If the Crippled God knew that Tiamat was attempting to break her chains would he lend us his aide? It seems risky to seek a god's assistance, but we may be that desperate or close to it.   I am beginning to suspect the geas that Mansoon put on me is not a geas at all, but instead something Other. That something might have been summoned into my mind either metaphysically or physically. It's revolting to think about, but maybe the Crippled God would be able to assist. I still have hope that in reuniting Lamorna and her mate, they may be able to offer aide in ridding Delphine and I of our...ailments.

Spilling Massive Tea and Doing the Most

It's been a while since I've been able to write. Someone is forever staring over my shoulder, watching my every move. But not now that my new companion and I have made it to this demi-plane, at long fucking last. Where do I even begin? So much has happened and while I applaud my advancement in my mission, I fear the consequences this may have for my friends. God I miss them. Let's recap.   In the vaguest of terms, I made it to Darkhold and successfully infiltrated the highest ranks of the enemy. I am a performative genius and have these idiots convinced that I'm actually on their side so I've become privy to some insane knowledge. In no particular order, let me spill some tea.   In order to convince the Wyrm Speakers that I am on their side, I allowed the Blue Wyrm Speaker (Mansoon) to make a simulacrum of me. I fear they are using Crescent 2.0 to terrorize my friends or gain and exploit their trust. I know how smart my friends are, I must tell myself that they will see through this. They have to. Mansoon has also put a geas on me which prevents me from communicating any information to my friends. I'm not sure exactly what happens if I attempt to, I believe that death is not out of the realm of possibilities. I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. I would do anything to give Ander and Ralmevik a fighting chance.   In other news, Tiamat's Chosen and The Sword Coast have a common enemy. You betcha, The Panion Dominion. All I know about this enemy is that The Panion Dominion is six years old. They originated from the south and at some point the Panion Seer was summoned from another plane by someone on our plane. We do not know who this person is or what their motives are. Tiamat's Chosen has sent their newest whipping boy, aka me, to do a favor for Queen Mab who will in turn provide them with a weapon to take care of the Panion Seer.   My mind is still reeling from all the next knowledge I'm about to impart and I hope that in writing it down, I can actually better understand all these twisted lines. So bear with me. It's juicy. There are two main components here that I am going to dive into: the Denarians and Tiamat's Chosen's whole fucking motive.   Let's start with the Denarians. I got so lucky in a library in Darkhold and stumbled upon a book which I'm pretty sure I was never meant to see. In this book I learned Denari is an order of creatures imprisoned a long time ago inside of 30 silver coins. They are similar to fallen angels. They are the spies of Zariel who is the archduke of Ivernus. They are pretty high up in the organizational structure of the gods and will put themselves in a position to be relied upon, but they are difficult to trust because their motivations are unknown. Ralmevik once said to me that Sister Calm and Brother Diligence are Knights of the Coin. I believe this to be an order of Denarians and that membership of this group is voluntary. There might be a bargain, or it's possible the holder of the Denari slowly gives up free will. I'm not sure. One Denari is called Ursiel. When they use the power of the coin, they can embody the power of that coin and turn into a bear. It is assumed that the wielder of a coin can manifest the power of that coin and transform into some sort of being. Ursiel has the special power to know any lie spoken in their presence immediately. Possessing a Denari coin also stops people from aging. I am convinced that the bear that killed my mother was actually Ursiel. But who is Ursiel might you ask? Ursiel just happens to be the lovely Brother Diligence. We will see if one remains so diligent while I make him regret every breath he has taken since my mother took her last. I'm not much for revenge, but exceptions are made and mine will be sweeter than the nectar of the gods.   We always knew the Arcane Brotherhood was up to no good and god how I wished we would have followed our intuition. Cooperative communications have been happening between the Denarians and Tiem's Chosen since the beginning of the war. They have been speaking with Sister Calm, who is also the holder of the Denari Suriel. Long ago, the Arcane Brotherhood figured out that the barrier between the material plane and other planes of existence has been naturally weakening over the last few hundreds of years. This information was somehow given to Tiem's Chosen who figured out that they could speed up this process through mass sacrifice, hence all the tiefling sacrifices that have been happening. Weakening this barrier means that they can ultimately free Tiamat from Hell so that she may come and rule the material plane before any other god is able to do so.   I hate to think of the position we are in right now and hell it's been so long since I've spoken to anyone that I don't even know what position we are really in. I just can't help but feel that there were signs I missed. This is what I do. Gathering information, figuring out motives and important pieces, and I feel I've failed the people I love. I swear to whatever god, demon, or devil king that watches over me if the Arcane Brotherhood hurts my friends I will rain absolute hell fire upon their filthy organizations and anyone that associates with them. I would hate to be my own enemy.   I am currently deep in Fey Wild in a place called Prismir. I've been sent to search for an arch-fey named Zebilna. That is pretty all I know about my mission thus far. I'm not sure what Mab wants from her or if I should even carry through with this mission. Eliminating the Panion Seer would be great for the Sword Coast and The Panion Dominion is eating away at Tiem's Chosen's troops as well. But I know they are ravaging the land and to fail at this mission would give away my position. Am I ready for that?

Out Here Single-Handedly Doing the Most Pt. 1

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind to say the least. After I narrowly persuaded Itkovian, my father, to leave the life of the Grey Swords behind and help me on my upcoming missions we made our escape from Derujistan through the northern wall. Neither of us wanted to leave the civilians so helpless, but we knew we would be of more use to the overall war effort if we escaped. I received word from Davil that he needed our help to secure a location so that we could blow the bridge and prevent the enemy forces from following the refugees from Derujistan.   On the long walk to the bridge, I got to know my father and mother a bit more intimately. He told me of his childhood and how the Grey Swords saved him from a life of slavery and gave him purpose. The Grey Swords serve “The Wolves of War” which are two fae creatures also known as “The Wolves of Winter.” The Grey Swords serve out contracts for these deities, Tok and Fanderay. Itkovian met my mother during his time in the Grey Swords. Her name was Erekala Castlelanter and she was studying to be the Grey Swords next Destriant, a high priestess. She would never get to achieve this though as an unknown something was hunting her; my father described it as though the shadows were hunting them. To protect me from this unknown danger, she gave me to my adoptive family to raise. Erekala was never able to come back and get me because soon after she and my father were attacked by a bear with curling rams horns and six legs. Itkovian assumed it to be a shapeshifter. It bested the both of them and killed my mother in the process. My father never figured out what type of monster it was or why it was hunting my mother. When I return to Waterdeep one day, I’d like to look into public records from that day to see what I can find.   Together, my father and I, successfully cleared the area described by Davil of those nasty little red dragon colbalds, a half dragon, and some jacked dude. The colbalds made easy work getting the smoke powder to the bridge as they had done all the work for us. With only mere hours to spare, I fashioned some arrows to be set on fire and blew the bridge preventing the enemy from following my friends and the refugees any further north. It was a damn good shot too. Afterwards, Davil asked if we would be interested in some information gathering work on the location of the Well of Dragons. First stop will be to Burnest, then infiltrating Darkhold. Mansoon, you better watch out bitch. I’m coming for ya.
