Matron Orange Blossom (a.k.a. Blossom)

The current Matron of the Rogue King’s court; Orange Blossom is rumored to be either Kiran Nobalis’s spymaster or the real power behind her throne.  Either way, no one in The Gem of the Copper Isles is willing to cross her or her network of fancy ladies.

Personal history

Although the details of Orange Blossom’s birth are shrouded in mystery, and possibly known only to her, Orange Blossom spent her first half dozen adult years as a fancy lady, taking whatever lovers would come her way in exchange for the coin she needed to keep living.  As  a ne’er-do-well in the Gem, her work was regulated by the Rogue King Urial, who had made his name as a bruiser before taking the title from the previous King.  Unfortunately, as the years passed, Urial grew to be more and more of a tyrant, and Orange Blossom was often stuck paying her tithes two or three times over, when he would claim that she had not paid them.
She, and many of the other fancy ladies in the city, were fed up with this situation, and had begun to put plans in place, when her friend Kiran, who was visiting the city, took offense to Urial’s words and challenged him to an honor duel.  The duel ended with Urial’s death, making Kiran the new Rogue King.  Blossom immediately used this circumstance to her benefit, and positioned herself and her circle of fancy ladies at the center of Kiran’s court.  Now Orange Blossom coordinates fancy ladies across the Southern Continent, and though she no longer needs to take lovers in order to make coin, she maintains her flirtatious ways, often using them to position opponents right where she wants them.
