Brother Hammer
Character History
Brother Hammer was born Helmut Stonemason in the Dwarven kingdom Tir Magorh. Like his father, Hogaar, before him he became a stone mason and together they ran a successful building company. While the leadership of Tir Magorh turned from the worship of Moradin to honor Abbathor, Helmut and his family stayed loyal to the traditional ways. While excavating and old fortress to make way for new construction, Helmut discovered a book, The Way of Master Varek concelaed in the cornerstone. An avid reader, the young dwarf slipped the book into his bag planning to peruse it later. Helmut's eyes were opened wide by the text in which Varek denounces desire for wealth and possessions in favor of service to the good of all dwarves. Helmut studied the words of Varek and followed his training program in secret. When he felt confident, he changed his name to Brother Hammer, which described his use to dwarfkind. Hammer refused to pay his guild fees, was jailed, and his ancient tome was burned. For a year he was given a monthly chance to recant, but after twelve refusals the dwarves branded his hand with the mark of a guild breaker, and he was exiled. As he walked through the gates for the last time Brother Hammer whispered the words to The Way of Master Varek to himself, having memorized the text during his studies. The defiant dwarf headed south to Scardona where he made a living building and spent his wages helping others. Someday he hopes to return to Tir Magorh and convince the decadent dwarves to change their ways, but for now he is content to change the lives of those he meets, one strong foundation at a time.
Character Goals Hunger will be erradicated within Scardona. The land provides more than enough food to sustain all Scardonians, it is only greed and a cruel need to control others that keeps every man, woman, and child from filling their bellies every day. I pledge to spend what I do not need to sustain myself to feeding the poor.

The Dwarven Kingdom of the Iron Mantle Range will soon return to the worship of Moradin
Greed has taken the souls of our leaders turning them to Abbathor. The Dwarven people must free themselves from the tireless pursuit of wealth and embrace our passion for building and making.
