Cyradel, the hungry mist

Cyradel was a powerful skin changer witch during the Red Era who ruled over one of the last nomadic skopen tribes.
Partially due to shifting weight of history and partially due to Cyradel's poor leadership decisions, the tribe suffered loss after loss. While Cyradel's tribe didn't get along with anyone, but most of her tribe's losses were from fighting human tribes.
She wanted to get revenge on the humans who destroyed her tribe, eradicating their family lines much as her family line was eradicated. She swore to accomplish this, no matter how long it took and sought to become a lich so she would have unlimited time.
A lot of mortals who seek to transform into liches fail to do so. Skin changer witches face additional complications. Metaphysically, a would-be lich needs to capture one of the primordial mangled souls left over from the the Divine Rebellion.
Most failed would-be liches simply die a mortal death, likely losing their soul to the Void in the process. Cyradel successful bound her to soul to one of the primordial dark souls of the Age Before Ages but failed to anchor herself to her own body. Becoming a unique noncoporeal undead entity. She existed for centuries as sentient hungry mist completely unrecognizeable from the elf she used to be.
Whether or not she was able to find and kill the descendants of her ancestral enemies or whether she just attacked and kill humans is unknown. Kill humans she did, predominantly young men and young children. Seemingly healthy people would die in their sleep unexpectedly.
Then she stopped.
It's not known whether she was slain somehow or perhaps she killed the last descendant of her enemies and then faded away, her oath fulfilled.
