Heroes' Day

Heroes' Day is the among the most important holidays on kingdom of Kantoc's calendar if not the most important holiday. 
Heroes' Day is set on the 40th day of Hallisan's month/20th day of the Month of Blooding.
Hallisan is officially recognized state patron deity of Kantoc, so it's important for falling on the Day of Hallisan's Solace.  It also incorporates a late season harvest festival, and the Day of the Dead for Kantoc.
Among the lower classes, Kantoca families gather to share a meal with their living family and then then tell stories and memorialize their family's honored ancestors.
There is also an attempt to foster patriotism on this day.  Among the upper classes, noble men and women honor not just their own ancestors but they honor every soldier that died in service to Kantoc.  It is very common that Kantoca nobles give their men at arms and their families substantial holiday monetary bonuses, or at the very least a free feast.
