Legend of the Silver Dragons
Void demons and many of their undead minions are vulnerable to silver weapons.
According to legend, the Nine collectively created a small number of spirit dragons imbued with the physical and spiritual essence of silver in order to fight the minions of the Void during the Second Unmaking.
The Silver Dragons were all destroyed but many demons preceded them in destruction.
Some believe that sovereign silver is the physical remains of these legendary creatures.

Swynfaredians are not known for their piety towards the Nine, but they do venerate dragons, so they often use silver dragon imagery among many of their temples and holy sites dedicated to the Nine to mix conventional piety with their own quasi-religion of hero worshiping dragons..
