The Art of Zeta Gardner
So I found Zeta Gardner, "aka Nalebunny" serendipitously on DeviantArt while searching for satyrs.
I really liked his satyr drawings, so I checked out his DeviantArt page and saw that I liked his general style, and I saw he we was accepting comissions, so I asked if he would satyrs for me with a slant towards Scarterran elemental ethnicity.
Granted I did not invent satyrs, but Scarterran satyrs are fairly different from "traditional" satyrs, so I wanted to showcase them more. Admittedly, Scarterran dwarves and elves are not that different from "standard fantasy" dwarves and elves.
He really helped spruced up my satyrs article and it grew in likes and views faster than any article I have made before. All his satyr illustrations are in the main satyr article, but that is not the only place I use his satyr illustrations.
Zeta exceeded my expectations with his satyr drawings, so I asked him help me bring tengku to life.
Tengku are technically an original creation of mine but I didn't make them up out of thin air. They are a combination of traditional tengu stories in Japanese yokai, D&D kenku, Star Trek ferengi, and Native American legends of Raven the Trickster. And I've been seeing how Scarterran tengku evolve as I'm fleshing it out with more tengku PCs and NPCs.
All of Zeta's tengku illustrations are in my main tengku article. The pictures pop up in many other articles.
I was pleased enough with Zeta's work to ask him to make the most important for Scarterra yet, portraits for all of the Nine. Again he exceeded my expecations not only making nine great individual portaits but putting them together in a zodiac wheel which I opted to use as the main logo for my website. He even tossed in a meme version of Greymoria free of charge.
In my case I took it personally with gratitude.
Next up, Zeta and I are going to figure out how to bring Scarterran gnomes to life, visually. This make take a while because at the time of this writing, I'm not 100% sure what Scarterran gnomes should look like. Unlike fantasy dwarves and elves, high fantasy gnomes don't have a "standard" look.
