The Purple Cow of Death

Some people believe the Purple Cow of Death is a merely a metaphor for hack fiction writers or lazy RPG game masters to add or remove a character or plot element mid story.
The Purple Cow of Death is in fact the most terrifying monster in Scarterra and every plane of reality.
The colossal cow will fly out of nowhere, swoop down and swallow individuals whole. Afterwards, their friends and colleagues behave as if they ever existed at all. These people are never heard from again. Unless they are heard from again.
Sometimes the Purple Cow will fly out nowhere, swoop down and vomit up individuals whole. Afterwards, their friends and colleagues behave as if they were never gone.
Sometimes the Purple Cow vomits up entirely new characters which then blend in seamlessly with the group or society nearest to them who always accept them without question.
It is even rumored that hte Purple Cow can create or destroy geographic features, aspects of history or even laws of metaphysics.
