Etheron and Netheron

Etheron and Netheron are a pair of opposed elements that exist within this universe. Their primary structure is to enhance and diminish life, where Etheron creates and Netheron destroys. While that might not be the exact truth, it is a simplification.

Both elements can exist in a solid, liquid, and gas form; with Etheron mostly existing as a gas and Netheron as a solid.

Etheron, while it permeates every living being, can be overdosed on by stimulants, which could also unlock latent magic power or refresh it. In areas with large concentrations of Etheron life tends to grow at a rapid pace; this can cause anything from tumor-like growths on individuals in the area to space-faring mega-fauna the size of a planet that consumes Etheron like a whale would krill - as well as anything that has Etheron within it. More of this substance exists outside of The Milky Way than inside, however the supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy pulls in the errant space-gas, creating pockets where they coalesce around stars that starts the process of life. The spaces between the galaxies are theorized to be inhabited by incomprehensibly large entities due to the presence of Etheron in large quantities, though some believe this to be unlikely due to the immense distances between galaxies that would be necessary to pull the Etheron into pockets large enough to create life. The primary reason for the first school of thought is that the rim of the galaxy tends to contain the also aforementioned mega-fauna, which tend to be hunted by kraken-divers.

Netheron on the otherhand is largely used to protect governmental and other important buildings as well as planets with sub-space cultures on it in order to prevent them from harnessing the lifeblood of the universe before they've been educated on it. Many star systems actually carry large amounts of Netheron in their asteroid belts, which naturally prevents Etheron from running amok. Netheron also coalesces nearer the center of the galaxy, creating a zone referred to as The Netheron Corona(? wip) where entering the area renders all magic, which uses Etheron as a base, non-functioning. This would include FTL drives, but not standard micro-jump drives.

• It has a stable electronic configuration with a full valence shell of electrons, making it highly unreactive.
• However, when exposed to certain conditions, such as high energy radiation or electrical discharge, Etheron can ionize and form plasma.

Other Properties:

• Etheron is capable of interacting with someone's body's bio-electric field and can stimulate or enhance biological processes, such as muscle growth or wound healing.
• Netheron is often used in conjunction with Etheron to create antimagic fields.
