Scifi Setting

The Milky Way; a thriving, life-filled galaxy far more than the simple Earth that humans have come to know. Inhabiting it are many, many species both sentient and not. And while conflicts have arisen, they've never endangered... too much. At least until some 50 or so years ago, when a sudden invasion from a mysterious species began, pouring from uncharted systems, consuming everything that they touched. With some luck, and a rallying of the species, they pushed them back. Now, sixty-three years later, and with humanity having relatively recently joined the ranks of the galaxy, they rebuild. An ever-long process, the indomitability of the "human spirit" presses against the horrors that have recently been faced, and seeks to overpower those that may or may not come again.
