The Story of Iceglint Broadwing in the Tondene Empire

Gender Identity

Sexuality

Bisexual. His mate was a male named Allbright Blackfeather, who was killed in a combat with some brigands. He has yet to find another mate, but he doesn't care if it's male or female; love is love.

Education

Iceglint had a normal childhood and learned the basics of flight and aerobatics. When he was an adult, he trained to be a skywarden, sort of a cross between a hunter and soldier. When he traveled to the more cosmopolitan areas of the Empire, he joined the Tondene Army, where he learned about interacting with the groundbound, and honed his combat skills. He also learned scouting and cartographic skills, which was the primary job the army had him doing.

Employment

Tondene Army Trooper. When he left the Army, he joined the Rural Watch.

Accomplishments & Achievements

He overcame (most of) his claustrophobia, demophobia, and shyness. He also overcame what others call "kleptomania". He has a concept of personal property now, even if he thinks it's silly.

Failures & Embarrassments

Didn't kill bandits fast enough, and his lover was killed. Later, he got his leg broken by a terror bird while protecting a military courier. His list of things he has been embarrassed about could fill an encyclopedia, but mostly they are all missteps in crowded, social interactions. Usually involving his wings and other people's food.

Mental Trauma

The loss of his mate causes him great anquish. It's the reason he left the Eyrie.

Naive, honest, strives to be helpful. Always tries to pay attention to where his wings are and how they may be getting in other people's way.

Motivation

Death of a loved one made Iceglint want to "take the fight to the enemy". At least, that is what he thought. He was really just running away from his pain, loss, and grief.

Doesn't like small places, tight spaces, or the inside of buildings. Doesn't like crowds, and doesn't like it when people sit on his feathers. Hates being called a thief. Likes ale, served in a bowl, kind people, and roasted meats.

He appears in the Citiscape "The Story of Iceglint Broadwing in the Tondene Empire". He is relatively young, and rather naive, and has to learn a lot about how to interact with the groundbound. This is Iceglint by the end of the story, after he has joined the Tondene Army, but before he leaves the army for the Rural Watch.
