The Lady of Tears of Galarba
The Lady of Tears is the name given to a priestess of enormous powers who appeared in the land of the Clan Seahawk in the eighth century of the new era. This priestess made herself known as a wandering miraculous healer, whose healing power she knew no equal, even among the most renowned elven healers.
Her ability to bring the dead back to life was totally out of the ordinary, and her fame quickly spread to every corner of the kingdom.
Before her, dozens and then hundreds of people awaited her at each new stage of her journey and a crowd of faithful followed her wherever she went, in ever increasing numbers.
In a short time it became impossible to continue and the Lady decided to settle in a remote and difficult to reach place, an abandoned temple in the hostile and barren desert of Ashenvale; reaching the temple is an initiatory path that culminates with the difficult crossing of the lifeless sands.
In 1243 Count Aimon Seahawk arrived at the temple, whose daughter Finnea was devastated by the disease of the Red Weeping (one of the diseases brought by the darkness and capable of affecting the elves).
The Count asked the Lady of Tears to save her daughter by promising him honors and riches. The Lady refused any reward but she asked in exchange to be allowed to profess her faith freely within the county.
The Count's young daughter was led into the meanders of the temple, from where she emerged completely cured. Count Aimon burst into liberating tears and her daughter kneels before The Lady, embracing her and her cult and soon becoming a fervent disciple.
On the death of the Count (1256 NE), according to some rumors a mysterious death, Finnea Seahawk renounces the throne in favor of the cult of the Lady, decreeing the name change of the Shire of Galarba in "Holy See of Galarba".
This change has not been well seen by the kingdom of Arborea, which has lost a rich province and important communication routes. The Council of Archmages tried in every way to persuade the young Finnea not to pursue this purpose of hers, but the young woman saw all this only as a test of her faith. Even in the Shire there are discontent and disagreement, mainly for having abandoned ancient religions and customs.
