JOSÉ MARIAGO ACCUSED OF CORRUPTION

Political event

Councilor José Mariago (FC:BB:V), representing the Marca de Baja Blesia in the federal council, was accused by Councilor Ferguson(FC:AS:R) of having been corrupted by the Giglio party.

Although councilor Mariago (Violet party) voted in favor of some proposals pushed by Giglio, for now there is no evidence either of corruption or of the fundamental importance of Mariago's vote for the approval of important laws.

According to our reporters who follow the Council meetings, only in a minor vote (concerning import rights and customs tariffs) last month could Mariago's vote have had some effect; in fact the majority's proposal to establish a monopoly on some imports and to reduce customs tariffs was rejected by a single vote.
