Performing Arts

Performing Arts is a compulsory class for first year students at Taru International Academy. In the students' second year, the class upgrades to Performing Arts and Dance.
"Oh no it gets worse?"
- The cries of many students
Performing Arts is one of the least popular classes at the academy alongside Seafaring. Many students are not used to engaging in the subject from their upbringing and feel embarrassed to commit to performances on stage. Despite the difficulties and resistance in teaching such a class, Mr Wang, the head of Drama, is known to always face each day with a smile and a terrible joke or two.   Mr Wang teaches all first years the subject at once. His courage knows no bounds.   Performing Arts is broken into one single class that lasts an hour, and one double class that lasts two hours. In the single class, students learn about the upcoming performance and the meaning behind it. In the double class... they perform!
In the first year, students can learn about different mythological stories around the world of Gaia.
Of course, as the player character, you can skip over the mythological stories if you wish and decide how much energy if any at all, to exert on the class. You can also choose which character to socialise with, which may improve your friendship waiting. Don't want to spend any effort in the class? Then don't! You can even skip the class entirely, if you'd like. You might end up hurting Mr Wang's feelings but...

Curriculum

First semester - Taruan Mythological Stories
Second semester - Cantarian Continent Mythological Stories
Third semester - Mythologies from around the world

Spells

Students who do well in class could learn the following magic:   Drift
Use: Causes small items to drift down. Creates a beautiful effect with leaves, snow, petals, bubbles, etc.
Type: Transportation magic   Duplicate Lvl 1
Use: Causes duplicate images to appear. At level 1, it works well with small objects, such as leaves, snowflakes, etc.
Type: Illusion magic

Grading

Mr Wang is never angry, only disappointed. You won't fail Performing Arts if you skip a few classes, which makes it a little easier than other classes such as The Theory of Magic. In order to do well in performances, not only do you need to make sure you are prepared (which could include casting the correct spell or unleashing the correct potion, and practising lines!), but you also need to spend energy. Energy is finite, so for some play-throughs, players must prioritise their favourite classes
