Volcanot Island

An ocean, desert, plain, pocket dimension, or other large expanse

Rocket launching private island space base on earth (owned by W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P.) with large fake volcano for rockets and space vehicles to launch from.

Geography

The island is large and heavily forested. In the center stands a tall mountain that can be mistaken for a volcano. Instead, it is actually a rocky structure with a vast cavern system inside for housing rocket building chambers and experimentation labs. The middle of the mountain is an open chasm tunnel that supports rocket launches.

Ecosystem

All around the island, the ecosystem is relatively normal. There are unaltered animals and plant life all about. A random person visiting the island will not be able to tell that there is anything strange about it until they approach the "volcano".
This island does not appear to be inhabited by any humans. There are no visable settlements or manmade buildings anywhere in sight.

History

over the years, W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. sent various students into several space programs around the world to absorb knowledge and bring it back so that the agency could establish their own space operations force. They have accommodated the island to suit these needs and have added several upgrades and additions as time has passed.

Tourism

People who happen upon the island or pass by assume that the island is home to a real volcano. Any loud noises, smoke, or heat that arises from rocket launches is disguised under the excuse of volcanic activity.
W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. has various security measures in place to prevent people from exploring more of the 'volcano' area of the island. This includes chemicals and gasses to confuse those who come near, scare tactics involving vicious animals, and even security personnel with tranq guns.
The main defense is the fact that this island is not on any database or record. It is deemed 'undiscovered'.

W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. is very advanced. They have bases all over the world... did you know they even have bases in space? Yes. That's right. But, to get there, WILLOWISP has to have space bases right here on Earth. How, you may ask? Well, they have their ways. As you know, there are several secret, private islands owned by our organization. Some of these are full of rocket scientists and even rockets! Rumor has it, there's one island with a great big fake volcano where rockets blast off from. That way, even though the island is quite secret, if anyone for any reason witnesses any smoke or loud noises, it can all be blamed on nature.
