The Beasts of Oikos

Alps
While alps are not, strictly speaking, beast, they are monstrous. These nocturnal creatures enjoy the blood of their victims when flavored with fear.
Anganetes
These pack animals can be found wandering the tundra. Like most wild animals the Anganetes will avoid people when possible, but can be quite dangerous when provoked, startled, or desperate.
Aurum Oyster
Found in saltwater and brackish waters, Aurum Oyster, while not edible, can produce an extremely valuable pearl with the ability to permanently cast precious metals.
Baobhan Sith
The baobhan sith is more monster than beast and appears like a beautiful maid. However, this predator can be recognized by her cloven feet.
Corilupus
These animals have the head of a deer, the body of a wolf, and the feet of a raccoon. Corilupus live in the tundra in symbiosis with Cornuquus.
Cornuquus
These tiny creatures live in colonies on the antlers of Corilupus. Each colony of Cornuquus is lead by a queen and will spit acid in her defense.
Draxolotl
These peaceable creatures can be found in warm still waters or even slow moving rivers. The Draxolotl comes in a variety of beautiful colors but should be approached with caution as these shy creatures can be formidable when provoked.
Eel Hound
While not strictly a resident of Oikos as Eel Hounds live in salt water, these striped creatures are worth mentioning as they can be a danger for those swimming off the coasts.
Fire Boar
These elemental creatures roam the grasslands. Strangely, Fire Boars are parasitic, always requiring something to burn to maintain their elemental powers.
Giant Millipede
These bugs can be found in nearly every underground location. However, Giant Millipedes are shy and even spray a scent to encourage other creatures to flee.
Glow Fish
These fish provide a beautiful lantern like glow to the waters of Oikos. Not dangerous, the Glow Fish are often prey for the other water creatures of Oikos.
Gryphinger
These small rabbit kite griffons are shy in the wild. However, in Eoend the gryphingers have been tamed and serve as pets for the aristocrats.
Huldra
Similar to the baobhan sith in appearance, though these creatures have an animal tail rather than cloven feet, the huldra, however, have been known to act benevolently toward those they interact with. It is still wise to be wary as they can be vicious if they feel slighted.
Jeweled Parrot
In the tropical jungles these birds with their brilliant, iridescent plumage can be found. The Jeweled Parrot has been a winged pet to many of the aristocrats of He.
Kelpie
Another danger of the waters of Oikos. Kelpie can be found in both fresh and salt water. This silent predator is best avoided.
Large Whisper Vulture
These birds of prey can be found in and around temperate mountains. The Large Whisper Vulture lay eggs in the summer, which are considered a delicacy.
Lava Golem
While not a natural beast, the Lava Golem is a silent predator that can occasionally be found near volcanic mountains.
Lava Salamander
These diminutive predators are dangerous not for their own traits, though they are fierce hunters for their size, but because of the magma pools and streams that are their home. Still a few brave gnomes have tamed a Lava Salamander as a companion.
Lux Spider
These curious spiders create their webs in dry treed areas. What makes the lux spider so fascinating is that it uses magic to attract its prey - casting light upon a ball of webbing.
Nebricorn
Less well known that a unicorn, their darker cousin the Nebricorn displays many of the same traits.
Panthaliaeetus
Considered by most the "true" griffon. A few winged Panthaliaeetus have been domesticated and are prized by kings.
Porubra
These beasts can be found burrowing in the savannas and scrublands. The Porubra are often hunted as ingredients for potions and charms.
Purring Pig
Appearing like white hedgehogs but with bright red ears, these lucky creatures will grant some of their luck to whoever can capture one and convince it to purr. Purring Pigs can be found in most forested areas.
Strix
These beasts were once men, cursed by the gods for turning to cannibalism. An appearance similar to an unholy owl, their shriek is said to inspire hostility in all who hear them. Fortunately, Strix are not common.
Villa
More monster than beast the Vila are nocturnal, plague-ridden, creatures that lure their prey with the sound of pipes. They mostly inhabit the tundras.
Virenod
The virenodi are large jungle cats that have been domesticated by the Travelers to pull their wagons.
Xulvem
This griffon is a mix of quetzel bird and fox. The Xulvem is wide ranged found in most every forest of Oikos.
