Tools
Tools are equipment that allows you to use special actions and more easily achieve certain tasks. Your profession, class, and past experiences can give you these tools. Your skills give you the knowledge of how to use them to their best abilities. Many of these tools can be found in the marketplaces of spaceports and cities. Whiles some which may be more specialized for certain activities can be located in other areas.
When using these tools you will most often roll the associated skill for the tool, but in special cases, the roll may vary depending on what's being asked. Such as Lab Tools being capable of a diverse set of uses for more than one Scholar Skill.
A datapad is a common utility device that most scholars and researchers use to access data and retrieve information in a system. It's a multi-tool of sorts for finding solutions to digital issues.
They come with the following actions:
Your datapad examines the environment within 500ft of you. As an action, you learn the atmosphere, terrain, and hazardous of the environment.
Your datapad sends out a signal to communicate with another datapad or Radio device. As an action, you can send a signal out to a specific radio device that you know of within 10,000ft. As an action, you can send a signal out to every radio device within 10,000ft. Your signal cannot pass through surfaces or objects 2ft in width.
Your datapad can translate written and vocal languages it comes programmed with. Every datapad is programmed to translate Interlang, Moterran, Arsi, Erovic, and Word of Metal. As an action, your datapad can translate for you.
A set of multitools specialized for working with mechanized components. They can repair anything from an AI Chassis to a ship's engines.
They come with the following actions:
You use your tools to quickly repair a mechanical object. As an action, target a creature within 5ft of you with the "Mechanized" type. Roll your Action Die and add your Engineering Skill to the roll. check the table below for the outcome. This process consumes 1/4 pound of Scrap.
You use your tool to repair a mechanical object for a period of time. You choose to repair a machine over an extended period of time. The time changes depending on the size. For every hour of work preformed 1/2 a pound of Scap is consumed. When time passes the machine is no longer destroyed. When repairing a whole ship, station, or something of the same complexity the rolled repair time is multiplied by 100.
A smaller version of a datapad with additional wire-based attachments. For probing sensitive or dangerous technologies, along with working with computers.
They come with the following actions:
You use this when you lack a known Algorithm or Virus to solve your problems. You spend some time writing a new program. This isn't an action but does require a skill roll. This process takes 10 minutes. Your GM sets the Skill Challenge you must meet to succeed. Make a tech skill roll.
You attempt to open a locked device with a locking system. Using this action you target a door, crate, or opening with a lock within 5ft of you. It can be physical or digital. Make a Tech skill roll. You are rolling against the lock's Tech Challenge. On a success you unlock the target.
You try to disable or burden a machine. Using this action you target an object or creature with the "Mechanized" or "Tech" type within 30ft of you. If your target is an object you make a Tech skill roll. You are rolling against the objects Tech Challenge, TC. On a success the target becomes unresponsive and is incapable of completing its tasks for 1d6 minutes. If your target is a creature you make a Tech skill roll. Your target makes a Tech Skill Challenge if they don't have a set Tech Challenge. On a success the target receives the Malfunctioning condition for 1d6 minutes.
Medical Tools are everything a medic needs to perform surgery anywhere. They're a set of condensed medical devices for fixing up the body quickly.
They come with the following actions:
You use the tools within your kit to tend to a creature's wounds. As an Action, roll your Action Die and add your Medical Skill to the roll. Your target can't be a "mechanized" creature. This process consumes 2 ounces of Medical Supplies. The total of that roll determines the outcome of your healing. Check the table below for the outcome.
You perform a quick surgical procedure to repair serious damage. As an Action, using two action die, you attempt to repair a creature's ability scores. Your target can't be a "mechanized" creature. This process consume 2 ounces of Medical Supplies. Roll one Action Die and add your Medical Skill to the roll. The total of that roll determines the outcome of your healing. Check the table below for the outcome.

A small mobile science lab that can fit into most bags. Lab Tools have everything a researcher needs for experimenting in the field.
They come with the following actions:
You can attempt to learn about a substance such as its toxicity level, its origins, or its components. As an action, using two action die, you attempt to identify some truth about a substance. Make a skill roll using the associated skill. Based on your roll your GM tells you some information about the material.
Your tools test the environmental conditions of the environment. As an action, you attempt to identify something about your environment. Make a skill roll using the associated skill. Based on the roll your GM tells your some information about the environment.
You spend time with your tools producing a substance of your choice. Once per full rest you may use your tools to craft 1d6 ounces of a "simple" substance. This process takes 3 hours of uninterrupted work and consumes 3 ounces of Lab Materials.
