Blackmoor

The small village of Blackmoor was founded to serve on need; as a place to moor airships that could no longer stay in the much larger city of Makoshi. Due to the strict laws of docking ships in the bustling city, many airships needed to find a place to park their ships for long periods of time. Blackmoor was a tract of land roughly two hours walk from Makoshi.   The owner of that land, Tela Molon, was a farmer who saw an opportunity to convert his failing farmlands into a much more profitable enterprise. Tela he was to quickly become known couldn't have been more right. Blackmoor Farm fulfilled a very dire need for the vast amount of airships passing through Makoshi. It wasn't long before Tela began to use the money he gained to buy more and more land surrounding the area.   As more people began to arrive, their demands increased. Inns and stables were established, cart wrights and airship engineers moved in to service the vehicles, and some traders smelling an opportunity set up shop. It wasn't long before Blackmoor Farm became the community of Blackmoor.   While the village does have some contingent of local law enforcement, the small settlement never truly warranted a strong presence of law. This, coupled with the rapid comings and goings of numerous ships, led to the rapid rise of a criminal element. Though dangerous and violent at first, the new criminal establishment in town quickly found an equilibrium with both the law and citizenry. As long as more money was coming into the town, and into the right pockets, no one really cared if a ship went missing know and then.   In the current year, Blackmoor is a thriving, if questionable community. Tela Molon, now known as Mayor Molon, is the absentee face of government in the area. Satisfied to live in his large house on the outskirts of town and collect his "taxes", the village of Blackmoor is free to do as it pleases.
