Sector 0:

My world is about a rouge science organization with a rock they discovered that rapidly evolves anything organic it touches, the scientists bring this rock into a lab they like to call sector 0, this rock creates a lake of strange liquid that forms into tentacle shapes and kills scientists and bringing there bodies to the base of the monolith. This creates a boom of randomly evolved life and started to puff out thick plumes of spores and disease. This disease then spreads through the ground and spreads to every corner of the globe causing a mass extinction event for the human race (its worse the closer you get to the monolith). Creatures start to appear near the pillar and traverse the new world, this creates total new ecosystems and causes people to have to adapt to survive.
