Green Milkweed
Green Milkweed is a herbaceous perennial plant that blooms most often with tiny green flowers, but sometimes with yellows, blues, and whites. The leaves contain a milky oil, for which the plant is named.
The milky oil is used in the production of Visage. The stems and leaves of the plant are mildly toxic and can even be deadly if consumed in very large quantities.
The plants are most common in semi-dry locations, where they are neither starved nor overwatered. They do particularly well at higher elevations, making them a common sight along mountain paths.
