Imperial Investigative Force
The Imperial Investigative Force served as the main body in charge of enforcing law and investigating infractions starting sometime during the reign of the second Jade Emperor. Owing to the green uniforms set with pristinely shined silver buckles and straps, they were known colloquially as the silver belts. Like all members of the Jade Empire, they ultimately answered to the Jade Emperor, but in practice they operated in a largely independent manner, overseen instead by a single Chief Investigator.
Sometime during the reign of the sixth Jade Emperor, they began to fall out of favor of both Fu Lan Fou herself, and the Li Qu at large. This is mainly due to Fu Lan Fou being so well loved, and the frequency with which the IIF clashed with her. In the years that followed they were eventually disbanded and replaced with her new Imperial Order.
Declaring the old IIF as corrupt purveyors of false history, Fu Lan Fou had most written records of their accounts collected and destroyed. Former members and supporters of the IIF were forced to comply for the most part, but some risked everything to preserve what they could and smuggle limited information out of the Jade Empire.
