Shadow's Reach

Shadow's Reach, a majestic pinnacle of darkness, is the home of The Obsidian Syndicate. Its form, chiseled by forgotten epochs and ceaselss elements, stands as a monolith dedicated to the mysteries of the world.
To the naked eye the spire is nothing more than a black spike driven into the world, yet those who understand the magic of the Ebonstone see the spectral light cast by the Ebonstone veins running through it.
Within the heart of Shadow's Reach lies the Cavern of Shadows, the world's richest deposit of Ebonstone. This cavern is not only a repository of the arcane mineral but also serves the as the spiritual heart of The Obsidian Syndicate.
Throughout the spire, the hum of the Ebonstone is almost audible, a deep, resonating thrum that seems to ebb and flow like a slow heartbeat. Raw power passing through the bodies of the inhabitants. Within one of the wings lies an intricate network of arcane workshops. A myriad of tools, contraptions, and glowing objects scattered throughout, and to the trained eye is seen as a well-orchestrated symphony of magic and machinery. Craftsman there make all sorts of Ebonstone enchanted items, weapons, armor, arcane objects, and so on. The Ebonstone products are kept exclusively for the members of The Obsidian Syndicate, any that fall out of the Syndicate's domain are recovered by a special task force.
Enchanted Obsidian Gargoyles protect both the entrance to Shadow's Reach as well as the entry to the shadowy realm of the Gloomdepths. Echoes of faint cries fill the halls leading up to the Gloomdepths.
Below Shadow's Reach lies the Gloomdepths where dark creatures that have been irrevocably altered by the raw power of Ebonstone. Among those creatures lies a dragon, touched by the Ebonstone, yet as time has passed the likeness of a dragon residing there has become myth.
