Overview
There are currently three different compounds that house Daniila Kurem's cult followers. They decrease in size, with the first being the largest and closest to the northern border. The other two are in a line farther south, evenly spaced apart. Daniila spends most of his time at the largest of them in order to keep track of what his people are doing. He tends to be sporadic in his visits, keeping the cultists waiting for him. The first compound was originally a farm owned by a wealthy northern family. However, the funds had dried up and the land had fallen into disuse. One of his early cultists had directed him toward the elderly woman who owned it and Daniila brought her into his group, after which she gave over ownership to him. The home she had once had was also given up and she took residence with the regular cult members. Newer members work to the north, away from potential guests. From north to south, there are crop fields, storage areas for weapons, water, food, and other necessities, dormitory style houses and then his own living space, separate from the others. At the very center of the compound is the main meeting area, a chapel with enough space to hold all residents at once. Spreading out west is an open area used for tasks that can be done sitting, working with vegetables, producing goods for the shops, and other such activities. The eastern portion contains a small rock mine. The rocks are worth little, but when taken to the west for processing, are made into charms. The main entrance is at the southern end and those who have been in the cult longest work there. The second two compounds are laid out in the same way, but are each about half the size of the first.Purpose / Function
The purpose of the compounds is to act as a housing space for Daniila's followers and provide food, shelter, and a location for collecting money.
Alterations
While the land was originally the site of a wealthy family's large farm, it now has a small mining operation, along with several quarters for housing people. These were added over the years as the cult grew larger.
Architecture
Most of the buildings are made of stone, although the older ones are composed mostly of wood. The main temple building was constructed on the site of the old central barn and has been renovated several times. Currently, its triangular roof has been replaced by a dome and it has seating for approximately 200 people on long benches. The benches are arranged in a semi-circular pattern around a raised stage at the northernmost end of the room. This is where Daniila gives his sermons.
The quarters for the cultists are minimal as this is meant to teach them to shed the luxuries of southern life. However, the leader himself lives in the wealthy family's former home, a large mansion to the west of the property.
