Fpripraab Dabmel

The largest warship in the Yzelian fleet, the Fpripraab Dabmel (trans. King of the Water) is the crown jewel of their navy.

Propulsion

The ship can be propelled via oars or sails. Three masts sit at equal distances from each other and each contains three large sails. The largest sits in the middle while the rear is used for steering, along with the large rudder at the back. When necessary, these sails can be removed quickly and three floors of oar-men instead used. Each floor seats 120 rowers, with four to each oar for a total of thirty oars per floor, fifteen on each side. At top speed using rowers, the ship can travel at approximately 8 knots.    Through the use of sails and on board hydr-esh and cael-esh, the ship can reach up to 15 knots.

Weapons & Armament

Archers, swordsmen, alchemists, and esh are the main lines of attack. The ship is able to store enough arrows for 1000 shots over 200 archers. Only the most skilled serve on the boat. Swordsmen are meant to act as support and, in naval combat, use their shields to protect the archers. Two alchemy labs are situated at either end of the ship and are used by on board alchemists to produce small fire bombs that can be attached to arrows or thrown toward enemies. Esh employed on the ship are mainly for defense rather than attack and are used to assist in the navigation of the ship during battle. However, high nests on the masts are used by both hydr-esh and cael-esh as vantage points to coordinate their attacks. A large metal ram is affixed to the front of the ship for battering enemies.

Armor and defense

The Dabmel has lobster-like armor around the sides that grows increasingly close together at the bow and stern. Shields line the sides and can be used by the swordsmen during battle. Rowers on the top deck are also equipped with spears that can replace their oars if an enemy comes too close.
