#15: The Last of the Redbrands Report

General Summary

Session Recap:

• Successfully intimidated the remaining bugbears to reveal the location of the Castle - "Where the river meets the eastern edge of the wood."
• Went back through the cavern in the middle of the manor, Phony Quark goes to inscribe the extra morningstar Edgelord picked up as a gift to the Nothic who lives there. He feels a surge of magical energy and manages to channel it into a small magical effect. The morningstar now says "Thanks for not killing us that one time!" when swung.
• Toot Toot offers the morningstar to "Bestfriend" the newly-named Nothic, who loves both the name and the magical weapon.
• Then, Toot Toot catches a glimmer of metal, and goes over to check out what at first looks like a pile of armor.
• With a whirl of steam, pistons, and gears, the party is introduced to Genetically Enhanced Automaton Required to Battle Outsiders and Xenos, or GEARBOX .
• Mittens could sense the same divine energy that flows through him within this strange creature, and immediately felt a sort of kinship with him.
• Jafar helped GEARBOX retrieve his lost leg from the cavern floor with a well-placed Mold Earth spell. GEARBOX asked to join the group on their quest.
• You met back up with Silda Winterstone, who had been standing guard at the manor's entrance, and headed back into town.
• At the Stonehill Inn, Trilena was relieved to see you and fixed up a giant meal, and you met Elsa, a very tired barmaid who looks a lot like Urso Triptich, the security guard.
• You took time to study the map of Neverwinter that is mounted to the wall of the Inn, and determined you have three options to get to where you were told the castle is located. 1) Take the High Road up to Neverwinter, then follow the Neverwinter River through the entire wood, 2) Take the Triboar Trail around the forest until you find the river's entrance, or 3) attempt to cut straight through the forest and take the quickest path there.
• After some debate, you decided you wanted to cut straight through the forest but would take the time to prepare for your journey first.

It's time for a *SHOPPING EPISODE*!! A great way to prepare would be to think about what your character wants to do to prepare for the journey and make sure you know how much coin you currently have on your person. Be sure to look through information about Phandalin for the shops and other landmarks you might want to stop at!
