Session 27: Secret Tunnel

After sealing yourselves into the passage, you quickly found that there was no way but forward. Seemingly out of nowhere, Corey found his way in and out of the passage to deliver some upsetting news; that Siris had been attacked by dragons while you were busy on your adventures in Theo’s mansion. Fen, in the meantime, found a skeleton and a mysterious “honing device” filled with an inner golden light that came with a note, warning the dead traveler about traps ahead. You continued on the path and came across a doorway with a skull overlooking the way forward. Thorns convinced Greg to pass through and was immediately obliterated by a blast of necrotic energy from it. Fen eventually agreed to revive him with their ring and Theo destroyed the skull with a blast of fire, not expecting the burns that they also suffered internally. In the next room, you found yourselves face to face with a board of sigils and warnings of death if you misstepped on your way across. Finding the route forward, you all carefully made your way across except for Thorns and Theo, who were not prepared for more necrotic energy from the pits. Thorns dodged them while Theo took a hit from one of them, suffering from that acrid burning. Further still, for hours, you walked, and without warning the path gave away into nothingness. Theo, Thorns, and Greg lost their footing but managed to hold onto the rockwall. Fen, seeing the sheer cliff face managed to pull up their party members before lowering a rope to help Greg back up. Not sure what waited for them on the other side of this chasm, they fired an arrow with a torch but couldn’t make anything out. The arrow instead brought Moonshine’s attention to the party and she took an interest in Thorns right off the bat. Thorns told the party of a run-in he had with Tekkdekk where he offered his soul up for servitude in exchange for help from the giant wyrm. He then used the honing device that Fen found and spoke with her for a long time. Then, he adopted Greg and everyone climbed on top of the wyrm, holding on tight as she soared up through the opening far far above you. She brought you up to the towering peaks of The Shining Peaks - miles away from The Radiant Keep but with some convincing, brought you a few hours away from the city you had left. Now in the sunlight, the rest of the night from the dinner party passed through the tunnels, we left off with you trudging through the snow toward the city once more.
