Roan Observatory

Located at the most northern point on Seori, Roan Observatory is the base of operations for the Watchers during the Age of Ascendants. Here, where the veil between the Mortal Plane and the Plane of Awareness is thinnest, early members of the Watch established a stronghold from which they could monitor the comings and goings of the Spawn of the Óvættrs.   The Observatory is a large rotunda with glass ceilings and walls, allowing full views of the surrounding landscape. From certain angles on the upper floors, it is possible to see the Remnants of the Spine in the distance.   The interior of the Observatory, which is somehow bigger on the inside, is mostly filled with elevated walkways surrounding a massive, brass globe of Seori. The globe itself is surrounded by walkways, which are in turn covered in telescopes and microscopes that allow Watchers to closely monitor the planet with relative ease. Small staircases along these walkways lead up to mist-shrouded platforms, from which humanoid persons may gain travel access through the Plane of Awareness.   The lower levels are home to the original base of the Watchers, a derivative of the Sirian Watch that sought a more active role in monitoring the comings and goings of evil beings across Seori. Combined with their access to Travel Trees, the Watch was able to secure the region for hundreds of years without interruption, until such time that renewed access and interest in the Remnants brought new waves of travelers to the far north.   The base has numerous conference rooms, dormitories for the Watch and their allies, and prison cells to house enemies of Vigilance and criminals awaiting Judgment. Each dormitory can house up to ten individuals, and possesses two simple bathrooms and a kitchenette. Historically, most members of the Watch use the Observatory as their primary base of operations during their tours.   The base has two secret sub-levels beneath the Watch headquarters: the living quarters of the senior members of the Watch, including independent bathrooms and kitchenettes for each; and a deep, largely forgotten temple to Roan, the original Avatar of Awareness, who perished in the first war against Ambition.
