Celestian

The Celestians are a race of humanoids who are imbued with the powers of the cosmos. They bear a striking resemblance to humans, but they can be born to any pair of parents, which is the primary case against them being descendants of humans.
Celestians are as old as recorded history, and some of the earliest records capture crude images of celestians. They were often revered as having a special relationship with the gods, as their skin was connected with the passing of days and the positions of the heavenly bodies.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are very similar to humans and humanoid species. Skeletally, they are indistinguishable. The most notable difference between humans is their lack of genitalia, as Celestians do not reproduce. This means that men lack penises, and women lack vaginas and breasts, but there are still ways to distinguish between them. Women bear more feminine bodily frames, whereas men bear more masculine bodily frames.

Genetics and Reproduction

It is impossible to study the genetics of a celestian since they do not reproduce. It is theorized that they are beings of pure cosmic energy, which is why they are physically incapable of reproduction.

Behaviour

Although there is little difference between a celestian and any other sentient race, each subtype does have certain biases when it comes to their personalities. Sunblessed and Starblessed tend to be more outgoing, with the Sunblessed being more passionate and fiery in temper, and the Starblessed being more naturally charismatic. The Moonblessed are introspective and prefer to live quiet lives as scholars or hermits.
Since there is no established society of Celestians, these are only observed patterns and are thus not proven to be true for every Celestian of that type. Many Sunblessed live lives as druids, quietly using their passion, and a few Moonblessed have made it as military commanders, using their powerful minds to control the battlefield as battle mages.

Civilization and Culture

Culture and Cultural Heritage

As Celestians are not an organized race by any sense of the word, they do not have many cultures related to them, and so they often experience and value the cultures that they were raised on. Some have been trying to change that, though, through coordinated efforts to bring a large number of them together.
Though perhaps, their lack of organized culture is wherein it lies. Many Celestians often follow paths that help them to understand their role in the greater universe, and all three subraces tend to do this in very different ways. Sunblessed tend to be more proactive and spend their time helping people or fighting wars. Moonblessed often follow paths of scholarship and become introspective. Starblessed prefer to enamor and regale of stories, past, present, and sometimes even future prophecies.
There is one characteristic they all share, though, which is unity amongst their own diverse ranks. If two celestians meet each other on the street, though one may be a Moonblessed, and the other may be a Starblessed, it is as if they found a piece of themselves in the other. It would not be uncommon to hear both talking for hours in celestial, their preferred language.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Sunblessed Celestians are born with a soft gold color, which often grows into vibrant oranges and reds as the spans of their lives go on.
Moonblessed Celestians are similar to the Sunblessed, but instead of colors, they are black and white and sometimes match the moon's current phase.
Starblessed Celestians have jet-black skin, often speckled with white dots, as it was the sky they were born under. Depending on what time of year it is, and when they were born, they can be used as rudimentary star maps
