Mate (Mah-tey)

Mate is the god of death. He is often less a god someone would worship and more an excuse as to why someone would die. Mate represents the idea that death is the last phase of life. Most people throughout history have despised this god and sought to work around his punctual schedule. Only a few have succeeded, and they have gone insane. 
Some artists and poets have been a bit more sympathetic to the god, claiming that he is not doing this out of malicious intent, but rather necessity. He is often compared to merchants, managing everything they own, from gold, to trade goods, to jewels, and even how much gold is in circulation. If too much gold is in circulation, it's value decreases. Likewise, if too many souls exist, the potential quality of their own life goes down.

The Bone Scythe: The Bone Scythe is Mate's weapon of choice. Created from the bones of the fallen, it is said to have the power to reap the soul of a person with a single swipe.

1. Accept fate. You cannot run from fate. It will find you, and you will succumb to it, one way or another.
2. There are no absolutes, except for me. Good is evil, and evil is good. Neutrality walks the line in between
